On February 13-21, 2021, Spherik, in collaboration with Cluj Startups, are organizing an online blockchain-focused hackathon. The Blockathon is focused on engaging bright minds from the blockchain and startup communities to contribute to the digitalization of processes in the public sector.
The initiative is powered by B-hub for Europe, a Startup Europe supported project dedicated to connecting blockchain innovation ecosystems. It contributes to blockchain ecosystem development by leveraging European technological excellence and supporting the growth of businesses that are integrating blockchain in their products and solutions.
How does the Blockathon work?
Following a workshop with public sector representatives, during which we’ll dive into the specific needs and problems from the industry, 3 to 5 challenges will be selected to be hacked by the participants of the hackathon. In the course of 9 days, from the 13th to the 21st of February, the teams will work together guided by mentors and specific domain experts, so that by the end of the week they can present their solutions to the jury.
The winning teams will be invited to join a 3 months incubation program within Spherik Accelerator. During this time, the teams will work closely with the specific problem owners from the public sector, who will potentially become their first customers. The program will define a custom approach for each idea, and the teams will be guided during one-on-one mentoring sessions and regular meetings. The main objective is to have at least a couple of working MVPs that are ready to be tested with real customers from the public sector by the end of the program.
Individuals and teams that are eager to test their skills and put their minds to work on finding solutions for some of the most pressing public sector challenges are invited to join. Registration and attendance are FREE of charge. The deadline for sign-up is February 11th 2021. Potential mentors, partners and volunteers can express their interest in joining via this form.
